Westford Academy offers three band class options: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Percussion.

CONCERT BAND

Concert Band is offered to students in 9th and 10th grade. It is structured to transition students from middle school band, but new players are also welcome. Concert Band meets during A block.

SYMPHONIC BAND

Symphonic Band is offered to students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. It is the more advanced band, and juniors and seniors can earn honors credit. Symphonic Band meets during B block.

PERCUSSION

The percussion class meets during C block and is intended for all grades. 9th and 10th grade students perform with the Concert Band and 11th and 12th grade students perform with the Symphonic Band. Honors credit is given to juniors and seniors.

 

A semester Elements of Percussion class will be offered in the autumn during C block, alongside the yearlong Percussion curriculum.

 

CONCERT DRESS
For concerts, unless otherwise specified, the dress code for men and women is formal black attire (including shoes). Suits, dresses, ties, stockings, should be modest and formal as to show professionalism, uniformity, and honor our artistic endeavors.
